How is an LCD TVs picture created?
LCD TVs come in many variations. The first being the LCD panel,
which isn't only used in TVs. The technology in LCD TVs is also
used in various technologies such as microwave ovens and stereo
systems. The technology used in LCD TVs is known as 'Twisted Nematic'.
It is a crystalline structure that reacts to electrical currents
in a manner that can be harnessed to produce a picture. The structure
untwists depending on the voltage passing through. The 'Twisted
Nematic' crystals are squashed between many layers of polarized
glass enabling different amounts of light to pass through and it's
this that forms the TV picture you see.
Many would agree that if you are buying a flat TV panel which
is smaller than a 37", it would be in your best interest to
consider purchasing an LCD Television, the reason being that the
larger LCD panels have a tendency to lose picture sharpness. You
will discover that having a bigger plasma TV will serve you better.
The two exceptions to this rule of thumb is if your room is extremely
bright or if you play a lot of video games as LCD screens suffer
less from picture burn. Nowadays, most LCD TVs are HD ready which
simply means they are capable of broadcasting high definition content.

The life-span of the LCD is tremendous as well and outlasts your
old CRT TV. This makes it a great investment and a valuable addition
to your house.
