Also featured at Yamato's show was Mrs Vu's beautiful collection of shohin bonsai,
many of which would certainly qualify as mame or bean-sized bonsai!
I saw her pack up after the show, and this entire display of some 16 trees fit into a single nursery flat. Simply amazing!
This flowering tree, seen at Mrs Vu's left elbow in the photo above looks for all the world like a full-sized wisteria with its branches trailing in the water.
This picture shows a wonderful collection of imported Japanese shohin that Mrs. Vu has been refining over the years.... I'm going to need to start carrying a matchbook for scale. The largest is probably three and one-half inches above its container.
