Midori Bonsai Club held its Fall Show on October 2, 1999 at St. Edwards' Church in San Jose. The show featured an Outdoor Display of bonsai in the courtyard, a Beginner's Workshop and a Plant sale. Despite a minor mix-up in the Ad copy printed in the local paper, dozens of folks turned out to celebrate the art of bonsai.

 Beginner's Workshop and Continuous Demonstrations

John Thompson again hosted the popular Beginner's workshop which was very well attended.  This workshop is always the source of a few new members each year.

Jerry Parola assists a new enthusiast with the wiring of a Mugho pine.  This hands on activity is great P.R. for the club.

Paul Jochim chats with another club member as the two look over an azalea in the display area.

Continuous demonstartions by club members keep the interest level high throughout the show.

A very impressive saikei planting

This Cottoneaster in full fruit was a sight to behold, and the light blue glazed pot was the perfect color.

John Kitagawa's Japanese Maple grove shared a quiet corner with a trickling waterfall.

 Plant Sale

The Outdoor Plant Sale was a popular attraction.  I actually ran across a tree I had sold a few years back! It's great meeting old friends again
