The first type of tub I looked into is the
Clawfoot bathtub.
Clawfoot is a freestanding tub and are the original tub
made of cast iron.
Typically there are 3 styles. Slipper tub where one side
of the Clawfoot tub is slopped for making it more comfortable,
classic roll rim where the rim of the tub is rolled down,
and double slopped style. |
The Jacuzzi bathtub is a type of spa whirlpool bathtub. Jacuzzi
became the name that most of the world now adopts due to Jacuzzi
being the manufacturer that introduced the whirlpool bathtub to
the USA in 1968. A Jacuzzi bathtub is a bathtub that adds air to
water and shoots it through nozzles which can be directed towards
various areas of the body to add to the relaxation process of bathing.
Remember hearing about or seeing
pictures of tubs in the middle of a big room.
Those are called pedestal or free standing tubs. These tubs
were used by the rich back in 900 BC.
So why do master bathrooms of today have a roomier feel?
Largely in part to the corner bathtub.
Handicap or walk-in bathtubs are an alternative idea brought
to pass to assist in the bathing of elderly and handicap persons.

They will typically have handrails and a door that fastens shut
with a water tight seal. They also have a seat molded into the tub
to make bathing easier. Baby bathtubs are made specifically for
infants. And help the parent to keep the head of the child out of
the water. Typically the tub is placed in a sink, in a tub, or next
to a tub.
